Finite Element Analysis (MEE370)

(01/18/2022-05/10/2022)

Prerequisite Courses

Course Description Credits Course Type Code
MEE220 Mechanics of Materials Credits: 4 Crs Type: AC
MEE340 Computational Methods with Matlab Credits: 3 Crs Type: AC

Course Memo

In this course students will be introduced to the numerical solution in the form of finite element for the many engineering problems. Topics covered include calculus of variation, derivation of Euler equations for the bar, heat transfer and beam type problems, and developments of finite element formulation with application to the engineering problems. For the lab portion of this course students will learn to implement PATRAN-NASTRAN finite element software in modeling, designing and solving engineering problems. Prerequisites: MEE220, MEE340
