Statistics (MGT520)

(01/18/2022-05/10/2022)

Course Memo

This course presents the fundamental notions of data presentation and analysis and teaches students to use statistical thinking in the context of business problems. It deals with modern methods of data exploration (designed to reveal unusual or problematic aspects of databases), the uses/abuses of the basic techniques of inference, and the use of regression as a tool for management and for financial analysis. These statistical techniques are used in further study in business, economics, and finance and applied to business problems. The course is designed to develop students’ ability to apply inferential statistical methods and modeling skills to decision making in business. Case studies, spreadsheets, and computer software will be used.
