(09/06/2022-12/23/2022)

Co-Requisite Courses

Course Memo

Multiple phases of meteorology are examined and applied by students. Principles of meteorology, familiarization with pre-flight weather briefings, en route weather reports and weather hazards are studied, preparing students for flight applications. The laboratory portion ensures that the use of Direct User Access Terminals (DUATs) is completely integrated in flight plan preparation by using weather maps and forecasts. This course can be taken as a basic science elective and is also part of the required set of courses for any student wishing to participate in the College’s partnership program 104 with the Federal Aviation Administration, the Air Traffic-Collegiate Training Initiative (AT-CTI) program. A grade of C or better is required for the AT-CTI program. Students not in the AT-CTI program can take an alternative section of the weather course, FLT230, Aviation Weather. See the Student Advisement Center for more information.
