Course Memo

This advanced elective course presents students with an introduction to Computer Aided Engineering (CAE). Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a numerical technique for finding approximate solutions to field equations in engineering. The field equations can originate from different fields such as solid mechanics, heat transfer and electromagnetism, where complex domains such as aircraft and automobiles undergo a solid-state reaction. The course also includes a laboratory component that incorporates linear stress analysis using the CATIA V5 application. Prerequisite: CDE487
