Course Memo

Topics covered are numerical analysis, finite difference approximation, matrix inversion methods and implicit and explicit procedures. The course will feature analytical and numerical solutions to the differential equation of a physical problem, roots determination and application to the catenary cable and vibration problems, estimating first and higher derivatives using Taylor series expansion together with finite-difference technique, numerical intergration and solution to the systems of linear algebraic equations. The course will utilize MATLAB. Prerequisites: EGR220, MAT220
