Course Memo

This course introduces students to a complete, step-by-step approach to learning the fundamentals of hardware devices needed for a computer system. It covers installing and configuring PC system unit components and peripheral devices, configuring, and troubleshooting display, multimedia devices, storage devices, and internal system components. Students also learn to configure and troubleshoot network connections, implement client virtualization to support and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and print devices. This course also covers installing, configuring, maintaining operating systems, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows and Apple devices. This course teaches students how to manage users, workstations, shared resources, and implement physical security to secure workstations and data. Lectures are supplemented with laboratory work.
